Search visibility
Search that is measured in enquiries, not rankings.
A ranking is an input, and on its own a weak one. Plenty of businesses rank for their own name, sit third for a term nobody searches, and receive almost nothing from organic search. The difference is rarely effort. It is whether the work was aimed at the searches that produce customers.

01 WHERE LOCAL SEARCH IS WON.
Local visibility is won on three surfaces, not one
They share inputs but reward different work. Deciding which one matters for your business is the first real decision.
One query, three places to be found. Ranking on one of them is not the same as being visible.
The map pack
For most service searches here this is the whole game. It runs on proximity, relevance and prominence, and prominence is where reviews, citations and a properly completed profile do their work. It is also the surface most businesses have never deliberately worked on.
Organic results
Below the map, and still where research-stage searches land. Won with pages that answer a specific question properly, on a site fast and well-structured enough to be trusted.
AI overviews
A growing share of searches are answered before anyone clicks. Being cited depends on the same things (clear, factual, well-structured content), but the payoff is a mention rather than a visit.
02 WHAT WE WORK ON.
The four things that move local search
Google Business Profile
Categories, services, attributes, hours, photos and the review pattern. The highest-leverage item for most local businesses, and the one most often left at whatever Google generated.
Technical foundations
Whether pages can be crawled, how fast they render on a phone, whether structured data describes the business accurately, and whether duplicate URLs are splitting your own authority.
Content that matches real phrasing
Not keyword density. The specific way people here describe the problem you solve, which is often not how your industry describes it.
Conversion and measurement
What happens after the click, and whether you can prove organic search produced the enquiry.
Searching in a regional catchment
Greater Sudbury is geographically large and made of distinct communities inside one municipality. Proximity is a ranking factor, so a single location does not radiate evenly across that area: your visibility genuinely differs depending on where the searcher is standing. And because the region works as a service hub for a wider part of Northern Ontario, some of your most valuable searches come from people who are not in the city at all.
Both facts change how a profile should be configured and which terms are worth pursuing. Neither is visible in a national rank tracker.
Reporting you can act on
Each month you see visibility for the terms actually targeted, map-pack position for your core services, organic enquiries rather than sessions, and what changed alongside what it produced. Not a hundred-page rank export, which hides the two or three things that matter. The Health Check scoring method works the same way.
If you want to see what Google currently sees, the free Digital Health Check scans visibility, technical foundations and conversion readiness. These are the same checks we run at the start of an engagement.

Common questions
- How long before we see movement?
- Profile and technical work can shift local visibility within weeks. Competitive organic terms take longer and depend on how established the competing pages are. Anyone quoting a fixed timeline has not looked at your market.
- Do you guarantee first-page rankings?
- No. Nobody controls Google’s results, so a guarantee is either meaningless or attached to terms nobody searches. What we commit to is the work, the measurement, and telling you what it produced.
- We get SEO cold calls constantly. How is this different?
- Those calls sell rankings as the product. Rankings are an input. We are measured on enquiries, and we will tell you when search is not the constraint worth spending on.
- Does our Google Business Profile matter more than our website?
- For many local service searches, yes: the map pack sits above organic results. The profile still needs a credible site behind it, because that is where the decision is made.
- What happens to the work if we stop?
- Profile configuration, technical fixes and content stay in place and keep working. Momentum from ongoing content and review activity fades. Nothing we build is held hostage.
